First Impressions Friday Blogmas Edition

So today I have 3 new products that I have tried and that look quite promising.

Clinique Uplighting Illuminating Powder in Bronze Glow.

screen-shot-2016-12-09-at-1-16-56-pmThis can be used as a highlighter, bronzer, or
a setting powder. I purchased it on Wednesday and I used it Thursday and this morning to set my makeup. It gave me a nice glowing finish without being too glittery or making my face shiny and the particular color choice works really well on med to dark brown skin. Although it doesn’t give a matte finish, I have had no problems with oil breaking through.

This pressed powder comes in three shades, Bronze Glow, Golden Glow, and Nude Glow, It comes in at $27 and can be purchased from

Boscia Charcoal Deep Pore Cleansing Stick Treatment

I cannot express my love and excitement about this product enough. I already have a love affair with Boscia. I have been using the Makeup Breakup Cleansing gel for a while now, and I also loveScreen Shot 2016-12-09 at 1.17.35 PM.png their Revitalizing Black Hydration Gel for the Summer months. In fact, I have enjoyed almost every product that I have tried from this line. I stumbled upon a video of the stick cleanser and couldn’t wait to go out and buy it. I have used it 3 times now and I am hooked. I have always been a fan of charcoal for its detoxifying properties, that is a given, but the delivery system of a stick cleanser blows me away. You use the dial at the bottom just like you would deodorant. It is an easy and very sanitary way to wash your face and it gives you just enough product to work up a nice non-foamy lather. The key to using a stick cleanser is to remember to wipe the tip dry before storing. So far, its a really great product.

This awesome little gem can also be purchased at Sephora for $28

Kevyn Aucoin The Etherealist Skin Illuminating Foundation

This feels like skin. I know that sounds really strange, but the formula makes your skin look and feel like skin. Once you get past the creepiness of the whole idea, it makes perfect sense. I have worn this twice now, and it is really a soft formula that provides just enough coverage to blur out imperfections, but not so much coverage that you look as if you are wearing stage makeup. So far it has hit all of the marks that I require in a foundation. Not too heavy, provides enough coverage and doesn’t change colors. I only have a sample of this foundation in the Neutral Deep shade. I do plan on purchasing the full size. It comes in 16 different shades and is formulated to compliment pink, beige, golden, warm, neutral, and yellow undertones. Available at Sephora $58

Since this is a first impression of all of these products, I will be sure to write full reviews after I have been using them for a longer period of time, or I’ll provide an update if anything undesirable develops.

In the meantime, check out my Vlogmas Video “Girl…You’re Turning Into A Man” where I showcase these three products. On the Mrs. K Channel
