Last month I spent a glorious 4 days at the Sandals Royal Bahamian in Nassau, Bahamas and 3 days in Miami Beach. I was in the Bahamas for the first time ever, to attend a destination wedding and then we tacked on the last three days in Miami to celebrate The Dude’s (my hubby’s) birthday. In between wedding festivities and birthday fun, I had a chance to soak up the sun, play in the water, and attempt to slay every single day.
While I was in the Bahamas for a wedding and Miami for my hubby’s bday, I still made sure that I got a chance to enjoy the beautiful sand, sun, and sea. Yes, Honey, I am being a little confident in this Becca Sicily One Piece. Its all about body positivity and being comfortable in my own skin. This suit didn’t disappoint. I received several compliments, and I felt amazing.
On day 2 we went shopping in the Downtown Nassau area and to the Atlantis Resort to check out their upscale duty-free shops.
This Aerie Two Piece (each piece sold separately) was a really great addition to my swim wardrobe. I don’t usually wear colorful clothing, but I couldn’t resist this print. Of course, while I am body positive, I am not quite ready just yet to have this body in a two piece plastered all over the interwebs. We’re not that confident yet…lol. This kimono from ASOS was the perfect coverup, light, flowy, with a pleasant pattern. I could still be cool without feeling completely naked.
Here is a closeup of that Aerie Two Piece as well as a few accessories that I brought along to make me feel at home away from home.
Normally when I fly, I am very casual and comfortable. But since the Bahamas was only the first leg of our trip and I had only a short one hour flight into Miami, I decided that I should arrive in Florida with a little style. I procured this hat from the Sandals gift shop. Behind the hat and across my body is my duty-free purchase from my Atlantis shopping trip (which I will talk about in a future post. Hint…it might be Gucci). I am also wearing capris from H&M that I have had since forever (because I capsule wardrobe) and a peasant off the shoulder blouse from Lulus.com that I love and can’t seem to stop wearing. My sandals are Tory Burch which I have had for a third summer, (take care of your clothes and they will take care of your wallet), and sunnies from Nasty Gal.
This wrap (also from the Sandal’s Gift Shop) was the perfect coverup while lounging and hanging out at the Standard Hotel in Miami Beach. Again, I could be covered and stylish when I wasn’t swimming or using the hydrotherapy pools. Oh, and here is a better pic of that Gucci crossbody bag that I am absolutely loving right now.
Since this was my first beach vacation in a long time, I was a little rusty when it came to what to pack. I took way more clothes than I should have, but in all, I am happy with my easy and truly wearable vacation choices. 🙂
