First Impressions Friday Blogmas Edition

So today I have 3 new products that I have tried and that look quite promising. Clinique Uplighting Illuminating Powder in Bronze Glow. This can be used as a highlighter, bronzer, or a setting powder. I purchased it on Wednesday and I used it Thursday and this morning to set my makeup. It gave me a nice glowing finish without being too glittery or making my face shiny and the particular color choice works really well on med to dark brown skin. Although it doesn’t give a matte finish, I have…

Belif True Aqua Bomb Review

My Thoughts This product changed my view of moisturizers. I have become a fan of gel creams. I am definitely a combo girl. I’m a little bit oily, a little bit dry, a little bit country, a little bit rap. This type of moisturizer is perfect for all of that. I have been using the Aqua Bomb for about two months. First, a sample, then a whole full sized jar, and then a repurchase. My daughter also likes this. How I Use It I find it ideal to use after…

10 Reasons My Forties Are Way Better Than My Twenties and Thirties

I know that the popular belief is that younger is better, being young is more desirable, and growing old is the absolute worst thing that can happen. To some, it’s worse than death, because at least when you’re dead…well…you’re dead. But I say, “Poppycock!!” Okay, that was a really old, okay antiquated, thing to say. Where the heck did the term poppycock come from anyway? Regardless, I still stand by my first statement, younger is not better, it shouldn’t be more desirable. It has its benefits, more energy, less joint…

September Skin Challenge

I joined a challenge on IG. Another one. I’ve joined challenges before. In fact, there was a time when I joined a challenge every month, sometimes two, cuz I’m ambitious like that. I have joined photo challenges, bullet journal challenges, doodle challenges, regular planner challenges, even the 100 Happy Days Challenge. For the record, I have completed….drumroll…zero, zilch, ) challenges. Yeah… I’m just not consistent, not disciplined, and not regimented at all. I start off all excited and hung ho (that’s supposed to be gung ho, but autocorrect has…

Holy Bath Bombs, Batman!!

Holy Bath Bombs, Batman!! I took the plunge…literally. The actual real literal use of literally, plunge and OMG was it amazing! Oh, Lush Intergalactic Bath Bomb, where have you been all my life? In my post, Cosmos in My Bath, Or Nah, I was debating whether or not to take a nice long blue soak using Lush’s psychedelic bath bomb. I had questions… Would popping candy really take me around the  Milky Way? Would peppermint and neon colour swirls send my mood rocketing? Would there be a layer of smutz…

Moodboard Monday: Lips, Nails, and Other Stuff

Moodboard Monday is a feature that I used to have on my last blog and that I have continued on Instagram. Its a small chronicle of some things I did or noticed or happened upon this last week. Descriptions of photos from left to right: My babygirl!! This little girl gives me so much life. She is like a mini me, but wiser and cuter. This patriotic glitter nail polish from NCLA, Born on the 4th of July, that I received in my July Glossybox has come in handy as…

What the Heck is in My Makeup Bag, Anyway?

Of course, since I am simplifying my life, product reviews may be few and far between, and while funny and strange things do happen, my average day is typically filled with working on my computer at the coffee shop and then coming home and being incredibly domestic. Not much excitement happens when you’re cooking chicken or making toilet bombs. Just sayin’.

Cosmos In My Bath…Or Nah?

This bath bomb, this Intergalactic Bath bomb from Lush holds so many promises. Just read the description from the Lush site. “Ever wondered what bathing in deep space would be like? Invite the cosmos into your bathroom with this sexy, interstellar bomb and become the guardian of your own galaxy. An awesome mix of refreshing peppermint and neon colour sends your mood rocketing, while popping candy takes you on a trip around the Milky Way. Constellations swirl and pop, creating vibrant lustre vortexes in the night sky. Before you leap…
